I thought I already posted these, but apparently not! These two chapters were released in the print version of Hakaiou volume 2. Again, I’ve opted to summarize since there’s a lot of recap. It’s recommended that you read preFINAL and listen to Nozomi before reading these. Neither of these are necessary for the plot.

This release officially concludes my work on GaoGaiGar side materials. For real this time! Yes, we’ve now summarized or translated every single canon side material (except for number.EX Propose, which is Betterman anyway). It’s been a long process! I didn’t imagine I’d be doing all of this back in late 2017 when I first picked up 43.5 as an innocent distraction. Turns out I can be a completionist sometimes. I plan to continue scanlating the Hakaiou manga, but since it’s been moved to the back burner, it may not be as lightning-fast as before. Thank you all for your support over this time!

Summaries from preFINAL

With a few exceptions in blockquotes, I’ve opted to summarize this book rather than translate word for word. It’s some 200 pages long and includes a lot of information that we’ve already heard before.

I didn’t read the author’s notes too closely at first and thus didn’t realize that this is all material that would have been available to the audience while FINAL was being released. Turns out the first three chapters are pretty important. The rest are easily skipped.

Summaries from FINALplus

FINALplus is, as the name suggests, the novelization of FINAL with a few extra scenes added. It follows regular FINAL’s ordering more so than Grand Glorious Gathering but includes the latter’s Lamia scenes. The first and last scenes and the New Chapter from this book have already been translated in full. Doing the same for these new scenes would take up more time than they’re worth, hence you get summaries instead.

To my knowledge, these are the only parts of FINALplus that aren’t a pure retelling of what FINAL already showed visually.
