Destiny Rewinder interactive comics

So, you might’ve seen images floating around online of Frieren, from the hit seasonal anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, talking about Beyblade. Those come from a collaboration game between the manga Destiny Rewinder, the Beyblade X toyline, and the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End franchise.
It’s a neat crossover… and I’m sick of people ignoring Chrono in it!! He’s there too!! It’s HIS manga!! Please play his games and give the kid a little more respect!

Play online:
01 – Escape from the Ocean Prison
02 – Reincarnated Into Another World
03 – Beyblade X & Frieren Crossover

The next interactive comic will be a collaboration with Detective Conan! We’re going to need the help of a game programmer for that one. Please contact us if you’re interested!

These interactive comics are freely available online (at least for the next few months). Destiny Rewinder and Beyblade X run in the same magazine; Frieren and Conan share the same publisher. FYI, if you aren’t checking out the new generation of Beyblade, you’re missing out. I figure the readership on this release will be 80% Frieren, 19% Beyblade, and <1% Rewinder fans, so here’s some background information.

[NazoOtona] Battle Spirits Double Drive 27, 26, 10, 49, 50, 45, 02

“Why did you list them in that order?”
Because it’s the order I subbed them in. I insist upon being facetious to the end.

That’s right! With this release, I’m dropping Double Drive for the second and last time. This project has been on the backburner for a grueling eight years. I don’t have the motivation for the rest of the episodes simply because they’re the ones that feature my least favorite characters, and I just want to move on to other things. With that said, it’s gonna haunt me forever to not have complete subs. There are 10 remaining ENG-unsubbed episodes. Anyone who wants to pick up the remainder can contact me for resources.

To save space, this torrent is just the subtitle files. Pull up a video from the [USP][KPMP] batch, drag and drop the corresponding .ass file in, and voila. Torrent here. You can find a ddl of all available sub files here.

“The Long Silver-Haired Anime Boy Who Ruined Your Life” Poll Results

This was a poll hosted by blogger batankyu in July of this year, which ended up netting over 72,000 votes! I translated the results on a rolling basis over the past months, both out of curiosity and for science. This is not quite a popularity poll, but is rather about the character who influenced you the most. Every otaku’s had a formulative experience with one of these guys.

There are fan comments for pretty much everyone, but obviously that’s too much to translate. You’re welcome to check out the source pages. This is limited to 2D characters only, and it still counts if their hair color/length is different between media or at different times.

There are a lot of semi-obscure properties on here which ranked surprisingly high. I think this is a good indicator of how Japanese cultural tastes differ from what we might expect. Licensors, take note!!

So, how high did your fave end up?

Hiatus (Oct. 2023)

So, no major releases for the past three months now, huh? What’s up with that?

Well, I hurt my wrist pretty bad to the point where typing was a struggle. Fortunately I’m on the mend, but it still hurts if I use it too much. Anyway, I kinda need my wrist for daily life. Hobby translating unfortunately pushes me over the brink right now. So [PYRX] is on break as a whole.

I’ve arranged things with affiliates such that all ongoing projects will be taken over… with the exception of the Hakaiou manga. I know that’s what most of you are here for. The current release schedule is extremely infrequent/inconvenient anyway (only 2 chapters this whole year). Whoever wants to pick it up, be my guest. You have the entire novel and also SRW at your disposal. I’m willing to forward my resources/style guides with ESTABLISHED scan groups/translators.

If I ever get around to reading the Dendoh/Granzort novels, I’ll do summaries. No promises. Definitely not doing anything that requires typesetting or timing, and there won’t be any releases for the rest of this year.

Anyway, here’s the rest of the karaoke styles I did for Saikyo Kamizmode! I actually finished these up last year. You’ll be able to see them in the upcoming [BOIL] batch. Honestly there are a few I’m dissatisfied with in hindsight, but ya just gotta live and learn. It was fun to dabble in karaoke typesetting!

The Dragon Girls’ Nowhere Zone (Chs 26-37)

Due to extenuating personal circumstances, I’ve decided to step down from this project. More on that later. I’ve arranged for our friends at [BOIL] to take over translation. Given that they’re already backlogged, releases may be less frequent. Thanks to everyone who’s read and enjoyed this series via PYRX! And don’t forget to give the original manga some hits at corocoro DOT jp SLASH manga!!

Download here or read online here.

Update 8/6: The Dragon Girls are getting a youtube anime in the fall! We have one promo image but no other info is known at this time. I wouldn’t get my hopes up since youtube anime of corocoro properties are often of varying quality. Nonetheless, it’s something to look forward to.

Hakaiou ~GaoGaiGar vs Betterman~ the COMIC 06 (Part 07)

Can anyone tell me how the SRW tl ended up with Llulla for ユーヤ? That’s such a bizarre spelling. I’m convinced it was an official JP-side directive. In any case, I’ve decided it’s too much work to go back through everything to change it…

Sworgrader is not getting translated here. At least, not until we see what it’s like. If it’s cool and not objectionable, maaaybe I’d consider it after a year.

[Macross Delta] Mirai wa Onna no Tame ni Aru lyrics tl

This song got stuck in my head after experiencing Final Mission in theaters a couple weeks back. Awesome experience. Anyway, none of the existing translations came off strong enough. This is a song about righteous anger and solidarity, and it deserves to be told in clear language.

This was mostly done from scratch, though some parts I liked have been taken directly from the official translation in Zettai Live.
